Who’s your daddy is a question I’d like you to ponder on. How did you initially read the Sub-title? Look what happens with the emphasis on the word Your. How we communicate in our families determines whether or not we feel valuable.
There are many ways to use your “tone of voice” to change the entire meaning of a sentence. By moving the point of emphasis, number of words emphasized, or even using a pause, the subject can be interpreted, or misinterpreted. In this way, perception plays a huge role on how we do life, and certainly this affects all of our relationships, especially family.
Every child is born with an inward need to have a special place in his earthly fathers heart. Some fathers are able to communicate that value, others desire to but fail, and yet other fathers have become so numb that they can’t comprehend the needs of a child, let alone try to express love to their child.
So, Who’s Your Daddy?
Malachi 4:5,6 Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet Before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. 6 And he will turn The hearts of the fathers to the children, And the hearts of the children to their fathers, Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.”
God being omniscient, knew that human kind would have fall out relationally in terms of parent/child relational excellence. In his book “The Father Loves You” Ed Piorek states… “Tonight, 40% of American children will sleep in places where their biological fathers do not live.”
That statement was alarming to me, the first time I read it. All 5 of my children at some point have been a part of this statistic, and most of my friends families too. Again I ask you…
