Take the Test!

What characterizes an “orphaned heart”. An orphaned heart is nothing more really than a heart that feels alone, unloved, & outside looking in. Our earthly fathers give us significance, and our mothers provide us with nourishing love. If we have deficits in either of these areas, we are living our lives somewhat like an orphan, and we are in need of a true homecoming.

Let’s take the test!

Do you find yourself thinking or acting in any of these ways;

manipulative                          blaming                                            lying

competitive (overly)         hording                                            bullying

name dropping                     stealing                                              selfish

striving                                     independent                                     greedy

hopeless                                     helpless                                         slandering

secretive                                    critical                                                shyness

obnoxious              using others (my needs met) shamed

angry                                           suspicious                                         unloved

inferiority complex                             superiority complex

Do you have someone in your life that will help you identify these areas?

Would you welcome someone speaking into your life in this way?

Titus 3:3-7 really spells it out for us that the 1st century church struggled with “orphaned hearts” in a similar way that we do 2000 years later! Paul describes to Titus some of the same characteristics listed above, and says that “when the kindness and love of God appeared”, we were made righteous through Jesus, and we were “justified by His grace”, causing us to become heirs in the Kingdom of Heaven. How would you like to move from living as an orphan to living as an heir with Jesus.
