At one time or another we have all heard that whatever we sow we will reap. This is clearly taught in terms of tithes and offerings in II Corinthians 9:6. The basic principle depicted here is “Cause and Effect”. This biblical principle is to be understood and applied to so many other aspects of our lives as well. In Galatians 6:7 he writes “Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.
The fact that he warns “do not be deceived, God is not mocked” implies that this principle can also have negative results depending on what we sow. It is inevitably applied to our lives in every way in which we live our lives. The question is are we sowing forgiveness, love, mercy, peace, generosity, compassion, service, kindness, obedience, and intimacy with the Trinity, or planting seed for future crops that will sprout trouble in our lives? What would you like to see come to fruition in your life that is not yet?
Now is the season for considering and deciding what we will sow. It’s now that we decide that which we value, support, and put to action. It will form the very foundation of what highlights our lives. We would do well to consider our planting strategies. God has given us His Spirit, our Helper, the Holy Spirit to lead us. Ask Him to help make those changes and enjoy the harvest. Your sowing matters.
