Ooops Did I Say That

Ooops Did I Say ThatOoops Did I Say That

How many of us have cast out words in anger and wished so badly that we could reel them back in like an empty fishing line? In a similar way we often communicate negatively with our silent facial expressions and our quiet condescending comments. We’ve all hurt others this way. Ooops

Ooops Did I Say That

I know that I am as guilty of this as the best of us. I believe that God is calling us all to communicate love not dishonor. In order for us to grow in this we need to;

1. Be aware that we hurt people. (revelation of our weakness)

2. Be willing to change. (conviction that we need to change)

3. Be humble enough to apologize. (obedient to the Word)

4. Be persistent enough to break the stronghold. (deliberately repeat 1,2, & 3)

Here are just a few scriptures that support the principles I’m writing about;

James 3:8 The tongue is an unruly evil…

Proverbs 18:21 Death and Life are in the power of the tongue

I John 3:18 ..let us not love in words only but in deed and in truth. – Weymouth Bible

Philippians 2:3,4 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. – N.I.V.
